Rare Earths at Palmerville – Unlocking Australia’s Strategic Mineral Future

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are essential to the global transition toward advanced technology, renewable energy, and modern defence capability. With the world seeking secure and ethical supply beyond traditional markets, Australia is rapidly emerging as a preferred supplier of critical minerals for global partners.

At Diversified Mining & Resources, we are proud to hold one of Queensland’s most prospective REE and defence-mineral regions at Palmerville, located within the highly mineralised Palmerville Fault corridor.

Rare Earth Elements Confirmed at Palmerville

Comprehensive exploration and assay results confirm the presence of a full suite of high-value REEs, including all 12 elements currently restricted by China export controls:

Scandium (Sc), Yttrium (Y), Samarium (Sm), Europium (Eu), Gadolinium (Gd), Terbium (Tb), Dysprosium (Dy), Holmium (Ho), Erbium (Er), Thulium (Tm), Ytterbium (Yb), Lutetium (Lu)

In addition, two of the most strategically important defence-grade REEs—used for high-strength permanent magnets—have been identified:

  • Neodymium (Nd)

  • Praseodymium (Pr)

These elements are vital for F-35 fighter jet components, missile guidance systems, advanced radar, EV motors, robotics, wind turbines, and high-efficiency electronics.
